1.Service orientation
The Centre is purposely designed for the care of the frail elders, patients with chronic irreversible illnesses including late stage cancer using an integrated medical, nursing and psycho-social spiritual care approach. The operation model is very much like a convalescence and rehabilitation hospital with daily physician round, specialist consultation and 24-hour doctor-on-call service. Our service is especially suitable for the following kinds of patients:
- Those who need holistic end-of-life care and long term companion of family members (e.g., patients with cancer)
- Those who need short-term rehabilitation and respite care (e.g., patients with stroke, fracture hip)
- Those who need close monitoring of medical professionals and quality long-term care (e.g., patients with dementia, Parkinson’s disease)
2. The Centre is not a government subsidized organization and is self-finance and donation based. Charges are set between high quality nursing home and small private hospital. Various room categories are available.

- For infection control purpose, newly admitted / re-admitted patients must be isolated for at least 2 days. Isolation charge: $300 per day
- Specialist consultation fee HK$500 for every Wednesday
- Other items charged separately: medication, special medical and nursing procedures, investigations (e.g., laboratory, x-ray)
5. Deposit
A deposit is required upon admission ($20,000 for 4-bed / 2-bed room; $40,000 for other rooms). The deposit paid can be used to settle the final bill.
6. Admission assessment
- All referrals will be initially assessed by nurse / physician of the Centre for suitability of admission (fee: $350)
- Patients with the following conditions would not be accepted for admission: Unstable emotional or psychological problems, aggressive and harmful behaviors, infectious disease needing active treatment
7. Room allocation
All beds arrangements are subject to the availability and the ward situation.
8. Payment
- Cash / VISA / crossed cheque (payable to “Haven of Hope Christian Service – HCC”)
- If you send cheque by mail, please attach invoice and send to: The Administration Department, Haven of Hope Holistic Care Centre, 19 Haven of Hope Road, Tseung Kwan O
- If patient stays for more than 7 days, weekly bill is to be issued.
- For outstanding payment not settled on time and without a reasonable explanation, the bed will not be reserved. The outstanding bill will be settled by the deposit and is non-refundable.

- The above are average figures from 5 representative patients and are for reference only. Figures include the cost for weekly consultant medical round, isolation facilities, drugs, laboratory investigation, X-rays, rehab therapy, special nursing procedures (e.g., wound dressing, tube feeding), meal and laundry.
- The cost will be higher for the first and the last week when usually more medical treatments are necessary.
- If the drugs are mainly supplied from the referring HA hospitals or specialist clinics, the cost would be lower.
